Nest Learning Thermostat

I have recently moved to a new apartment and the thermostat has been driving me nuts. For the first time I am dealing with a programmable Thermostat and I find it really annoying. It is not intuitive and I have no instructions. Mind you, I have a degree in engineering and still have trouble dealing with my thermostat. Naturally, ad for a learning thermostat grabbed my attention. Full disclosure, I have not tried Nest Learning Thermostat and would love to try it someday. I have never lived in my own house and never bought a thermostat. So when I saw the price tag of $249 , I felt it was rather expensive. So I looked for thermostats on Home Depot. All the thermostats I saw seemed relatively clumsy. Nest Learning Thermostat continuously learns about what your ideal settings are during different times of the day, when you are home and when you are away. In the process it tries to maintain ideal temperature for you at your home and conserves energy. Since I have not used the product, I think it's best to watch reviews done by other sites. Here is a review from CNET. Here's a interview of Matt Rogers, Founder of Nest These guys have definitely made thermostats sexy and cool.

Felix Baumgartner's record breaking space jump

For the first time today I witnessed history while being made. Renown skydiver/base jumper Feliz Baumgartner broke several world records today while successfully jumping from a height of 39,045 meters (128,100 feet) from a helium-filled balloon. Kudos to Felix and Redbull Stratos team. Words can not describe his achievements. Witness it yourself
